6:00pm Social & Refreshments
Our traditional holiday decorations will welcome our RAG members as they arrive for our December Member Dinner on Thursday, December 8, 2016. With our membership growing, our 6:00 pm social hour will be time well spent meeting and greeting new members who join us. A new table has been added this year…an appetizer table for all to enjoy before dinner is announced. You will find this table near the wine bar, on the right as you enter the room. There are 40 RAG members who will be sharing their culinary accomplishments with us… and we gratefully thank each one of them. We are looking forward to having a warm and jolly dinner with our friends, our fellow RAG members.
It has become our tradition that after our meal one of the winners of our spring juried show talk to us about their work. This year it is Regina Baker, whose watercolor painting, October, received the second award. Regina has always loved art, particularly watercolors. It wasn’t until she retired from Kenosha Unified School District three years ago that she began to pursue this interest. She first took several watercolor classes with Joyce Easley at Alverno College and currently takes Jean Thielen’s studio classes at Wustum and paints with the Wednesday group at Chavez Center. So far, the majority of her work has been portraits and her favorite model is her granddaughter. This summer she began asking friends and fellow artists to pose for photos that she then uses for her portraits. You never know who might turn up in one of her pictures!
